Today our sweet boy is two months old! This was such a great month. It’s like he “woke up” and has been so alert and interactive with us!
The past two months have truly been the best months of our lives! Your daddy and I just love you more than we could ever tell you in words.
You had a big month. You really started to grow this month and have started packing on the pounds, I think! Right now I am putting 5.5 ounces in your bottles during the day. You are eating every 3-4 hours and sometimes you finish the bottle, sometimes you leave about an ounce. For your bedtime feeding, I put 6 ounces in the bottle and try to get you to finish it. I’m trying to stuff you before you go to sleep!
You are wearing 0-3 month clothes. I shed a few tears when I pulled your newborn onesies out of your closet this month.
You are still not the world’s greatest sleeper but you’re not the worst, either. We had a week this month where you refused to sleep in your crib but I think it’s because your stomach was hurting you. We resolved those problems and now you are doing a great job going down in your crib and putting yourself to sleep. We generally start the bedtime routing around 8:30-9 so you are going to sleep between 9-10 p.m. I finally bought a different bathtub (one with a sling – kind of like a little hammock for you) and now that we are using that instead of the one that goes in the kitchen sink, we are both loving bathtime! A few days ago you even fell asleep during your bath. Last night I had you smiling and laughing. You love to just sit there in the warm water and look at me while I bathe you.
You are waking up to eat between 2-3:30 a.m and then again between 6:30-7:30 a.m. I have to say, I can’t wait to get to the point where you are sleeping through that middle of the night feeding.
You got to see your great-grandparents and your great-aunt again this month and we traveled for the first time when we went out of town to see family. You did great!
On September 21, you started smiling at us very intentionally. WE LOVE IT! Since then, you love to just smile and laugh and play, especially in the mornings. You’re definitely a morning person! You wake up just so happy and when we walk in the room, you smile at us. One morning your dad put you in my arms and you started smiling and let out a little giggle. Yes, my heart melted.
I’m so sad that our days together are winding down as I get ready to go back to work at the office. I’m really trying to soak it up so sometimes I just sit and stare at you while we cuddle.
This month’s stats:
Weight: I think you’re probably around 10 pounds, but your appointment isn’t until October 8 so I will update this again when I know definite numbers!
Height: Not sure – waiting for your doctor’s appointment
We love you so, so much!
